Newsletter XXVIII

Dear Friends of Hundertbücheln-Movile,

We hope this newsletter finds you well. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support in the aftermath of the flood that struck Movile in June. Your generosity and kindness have made a significant difference in the lives of the affected families, and we are thrilled to share the progress we’ve made together.

Thanks to your contributions, we were able to provide financial aid to 28 families in Movile, totaling approximately 2,800 Euro. The support you provided has truly touched the hearts of the recipients, and we can’t thank you enough for being a glimpse of hope during these challenging times.

In addition to the relief efforts, we took on the task of restoring our own house in Movile that was also impacted by the flood. The recovery process was a true testament to the strength of our community spirit. We rolled up our sleeves and worked tirelessly to mend the damages caused by the flood. From straightening the creek and clearing debris, to rebuilding fences and tending to our garden, we were reminded of the resilience that binds us together.

The flood in Movile has made us acutely aware of the far-reaching consequences that such natural disasters can have, not only on a local scale but also on a global level. Recent events in Europe, including floods in Slovenia, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and beyond, highlight the urgent need for collective action to address the challenges posed by changing weather patterns and their impacts.

As we move forward, we remain committed to supporting the affected families in Movile and contributing to broader conversations about climate resilience and disaster preparedness. We encourage you to stay connected with us as we navigate these important issues together. Because besides the unanticipated flood, we are always busy and looking for new projects. A next one will revolve around one of the most important houses for the village: The old school in the heart of Movile. But that story will be told in the next newsletter.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our cause. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Warm regards,

Felix from the newsletter editorial office
